Dassault Systèmes has introduced a new generation of artificial intelligence designed specifically for industry: Virtual Companions—virtual experts that work alongside engineers, scientists, and project teams within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

These virtual companions represent a new way of interacting with technology. They are not simple conversational assistants, but systems capable of understanding the context of industrial projects and collaborating in the resolution of complex problems.

According to the company, Virtual Companions are designed to help, teach, and work alongside users, integrating directly into engineering, design, simulation, and operational processes.

Three virtual experts for different industrial challenges

AURA acts as a knowledge orchestrator. Its role is to connect information coming from requirements, projects, and change processes, helping teams maintain context and consistency in increasingly complex development environments.

LEO focuses on engineering challenges. It helps analyze technical problems that span multiple disciplines—from product design to industrialization—facilitating the exploration of alternatives and supporting technical decision-making.

MARIE brings a scientific perspective to the innovation process. Its capabilities focus on investigating complex phenomena related to materials, chemistry, or formulations, helping teams formulate new hypotheses and explore potential technological breakthroughs.

AI Built on Industrial Knowledge and Simulation

One of the key differences in this approach is that Virtual Companions are not based solely on language models.

Dassault Systèmes has built these systems on what it calls Industry World Models, a combination of artificial intelligence, scientific models, simulation technologies, and decades of accumulated industrial knowledge.

Thanks to this foundation, virtual companions can analyze complex situations, reason about engineering challenges, and anticipate behaviors before any product physically exists.

This approach connects directly with the 3D UNIV+RSES vision introduced by Dassault Systèmes, which proposes a new paradigm for imagining, testing, and validating innovations within virtual universes before bringing them into the real world.

A New Way for Humans and Technology to Collaborate

The arrival of Virtual Companions opens the door to a new way of working in industry. Instead of interacting with isolated tools, professionals will be able to collaborate with virtual experts capable of understanding the context of their projects and actively participating in development processes.

According to Pascal Daloz, CEO of Dassault Systèmes, this approach reflects the transition toward what the company calls the Generative Economy, where industrial knowledge and expertise become the main drivers of value creation.

In this scenario, collaboration between humans and intelligent systems will help accelerate innovation cycles, reduce risks, and improve decision-making before products even exist physically.

Currently, Aura is already available on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, while Leo and Marie will be progressively introduced throughout 2026.
