CADTECH and Dassault Systèmes have signed a collaboration agreement with the UCAnFly team from the University of Cádiz, recognized for its participation in the Fly Your Satellite! program of the European Space Agency (ESA), to drive the development of innovative nanosatellites.
Driving innovation in nanosatellites
UCAnFly is the first nanosatellite designed and developed at the University of Cádiz. Its main objective is to explore the feasibility of low-noise magnetic measurement systems for space missions that require extremely small sensors and long integration times. These technologies may be valuable for future space-based gravitational wave detectors primarily based on laser interferometry, such as the ESA’s LISA mission.
The project is part of the third edition of the ESA’s educational program Fly Your Satellite!, which gives university students the opportunity to design, manufacture, launch, and operate real satellites.
Thanks to this partnership, the UCAnFly team will be able to leverage the design, simulation, and collaboration capabilities of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to optimize every aspect of their nanosatellite.

Training in advanced tools
The collaboration also includes a training program to be delivered in 2025, focused on mechanical design using CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE. The program will cover topics such as the PLM environment, part and assembly design, surface creation, and design reviews, enabling students to acquire key skills for future aerospace projects.
Commitment to innovation and talent
The partnership between CADTECH, Dassault Systèmes, and UCAnFly reflects a shared commitment to education and the development of young talent in aerospace engineering. This agreement provides students with state-of-the-art tools, fostering creativity and preparing them to lead the future of the aerospace sector.
About UCAnFly
UCAnFly is an educational nanosatellite designed to test emerging technologies for space-based gravitational wave detectors such as LISA. Its primary motivation is to complement academic education at the University of Cádiz (UCA) and transfer knowledge to students in the fields of advanced instrumentation and data analysis for Space Sciences.
